Legal Documents

The document called The General Conditions of Sale sets out all the legal conditons which apply to the sale of property i.e. land and buildngs. The solicitor acting for the Seller will draw up the Memorandum of Sale referred to as the Contract and Special Conditions of Sales which override the General Conditions of Sale. This is the document which a Buyer is required to sign if he or she is the successful bidder. The General Conditions of Sale are available in full on a link here.

The Money Laundering Regulations 2007 could more accurately be described as the Anti Money Laundering Regulations as their purpose is to prevent the "laundering" of money. In the context of Auctions and the sale and purchase of property the Regulations require the Auctioneer to verify by way of particular documentation the identities of the parties to a transaction. A synopsis of the Regulations is available on a link here and the forms of ID required are set out there.
